Opportunities to Get Involved in Annual Meeting Events:
Hello AERA GSC Colleagues. My name is Keisha Siriboe, and I am a Ph.D. candidate at the Universtiy of Hong Kong. I am also honored to serve as your 2016-2017 Chair-Elect.As we prepare for the AERA Annual Meeting in San Antonio, I am organizing a fireside chat centered around academic entrepreneurs and social innovation. If you are putting your academic research to innovative use, or you are a part of a social enterprise that is addressing an issue within education, I would like to hear from you. If your organization or program is selected, you will be a featured panelist at the AERA GSC fireside chat on academic entrepreneurship.
Academic entrepreneurship describes the ability to operate simultaneously as a scholar and as an entrepreneur. Within today’s market-driven society, academic entrepreneurs can effectively bridge knowledge with innovation in ways that are beneficial to society. The success of such ventures largely depends on the ability to creatively apply research-based approaches to pressing social issues through products, services, or ideas. Within this panel, academic entrepreneurs will discuss their experiences and share their insights through an open Q & A discussion.
If you are interested in joining this panel, then please email Keisha Siriboe, at firstname.lastname@example.org by October 31, 2016.
